Ontario's Niagara Region
Welcome to Niagara Region!
The picturesque Niagara Region is wedged between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie in southern Ontario. Twelve distinct municipalities comprise this area that is brimming with natural wonders, captivating landscape and eclectic zeal. The roar of the mighty and famed Horseshoe Falls, located within Niagara Falls, beckons millions of visitors each year. The city is also filled with a myriad of entertaining amusement centres, from chilling houses of horror and sideshow museums to the sophisticated Casino Niagara. The self-proclaimed 'Garden City' of St. Catharines has some esteemed wineries and a bounty of activities. Welland, home of the engineering marvel Welland Canal, welcomes tens of thousands to its annual summer food festival. Niagara-on-the-Lake was one of Ontario's first settlements, but now attracts thousands to the Shaw Festival Theatre, as well as to its many boutique and antique shops. Cyclers and hikers may find serenity on the trails of the diverse Niagara Escarpment.
