The Grimsby Historical Society and Archives is located in the renovated Carnegie Library building and is open to visitors on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Photographs, books and historical publications, diaries and family history documents are on display.

The Grimsby Public Library, together with the Public Art Gallery, is located in a new complex on Carnegie Lane the centre of Grimsby. The library is open daily and features internet and computer terminals for visitors as well as an author series, story times for toddlers and summer reading clubs for children.
