    Niagara Falls (Horseshoe Falls)

    Welland Canal Recreational Trail
    This 9 km (5.5 mi) trail runs parallel to the Welland Canal and is popular with walkers, joggers and cyclists wishing to watch vessels maneuvering the canal. Several benches line the trail which is accessible from Lock Three on the canal.

    Mather Arch Park

    Located in Fort Erie, the grounds of Mather's Arch Park can be used for an outdoor wedding venue along the shores of Lake Erie or is good for viewing the International Peace Bridge and the arch for which the park is named.

    Queen Victoria Park
    Niagara's quintessential gardens, Queen Victoria Park is as much of the area as the Falls. Situated next to the Falls, the park offers a stunning array of flowers, such as a massive rose garden, as well as other eye pleasing landscaping such as the rock garden. At night, the gardens are illuminated for an interesting display. With changing flower beds, the gardens can be visited year round, even in the winter with light clad trees.

    Walker Arboretum

    This relatively unknown botanical garden is located at the Rodman Hall Arts Centre, once part of the Thomas Rodman Merritt Estate. From its original designer, a landscaper from England, to more recent projects, the garden has resulted in a collection of exotic trees and plants amid extensive grounds on the embankment overlooking the Twelve Mile Creek.

    Lock 8 Park
    Lock 8 is the name of the guard gate that raises or lowers ship to suit the water levels in Lake Erie, and this particular lock is one of the longest in the world. A description of the surrounding park is far less technical - it offers a viewing platform, flower gardens, several fountains, a picnic area and washrooms.

    Happy Rolph's Bird Sanctuary
    Happy Rolph's Bird Sanctuary is a 6-hectare (15-acre) park that is home to hundreds of migratory and resident birds. A petting farm, open from May through October, is located on site and the park features a pavilion with picnic and playground areas. Situated on Lake Ontario's shores, the sanctuary is reached by Read Road, east of the Welland Canal.

    Montebello Park
    Designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, Montebello Park lies within the Queens Street Heritage district in downtown St. Catharines and is framed by Ontario and Lake Streets.     White Water Walk
